Identifying the Antecedents and Consequences of Employees’ Vitality in Organization by Meta Synthesis and Delphi Methods

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the antecedents and consequences of employees’ vitality in organization by meta synthesis and Delphi methods.

Design/ methodology/ approach: In terms of purpose, this research is applied and in terms of approach, it is a mixed type of research. Firs, the meta-synthesis method was used and studies regarding the antecedents and consequences of employee vitality during the years 2002-2022 were considered among which 49 sources were used for the final analysis. Then, the fuzzy Delphi method was used to screen and confirm the findings. The statistical population included experts in the family chain store company, 20 of whom were selected by purposeful non-random sampling.

Research Findings: The outcomes of employee vitality were identified in 2 individual (28 indicators, 6 basic themes) and organizational (29 indicators, 7 basic themes) categories and the consequences were also identified in 2 categories of individual (14 indicators, 5 themes) and organizational (3 indicators, 1 basic themes) results.

Limitations & Consequences: The main limitation of this research is not providing a factorial structure between the components and ranking the concepts and themes according to their priority. Another limitation is the lack of expansion of the panel of research experts to different sectors of the industry.

Practical Consequences: Managers may use the results of this research in order to exploit the positive aspects of employees’ vitality in the organization.

Innovation or value of the Article Human resource managers may use the results of this research to improve the vitality of employees and ultimately improve the performance and growth of their organization.
