Abstract

Purpose: The safety and health of employees has the ability to minimize the risks faced by the organization, managers, employees and even society. With this assumption, The current research was conducted with the aim of designing a model of employee's health and safety with the approach of human capital management in the country's oil industry.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The current research is interpretive in terms of paradigmology and practical in terms of purpose. Research data has been collected with qualitative approach and database method. Then theoretical saturation was achieved by relying on semi-structured in-depth interviews with 15 managers, experts and professors in a targeted way. The research strategy was exploratory in terms of nature and method, and inductive in terms of implementation logic. Validation of qualitative research was done by Lincoln and Guba method and reliability by retest method.

Research Findings: According to the data obtained from the interviews and qualitative analysis using the database method, 641 open codes, 50 central codes, and 23 selective codes were categorized. Based on the resulting codes, causal factors, central phenomenon, contextual factors, intervening factors, strategies, and consequences were identified, and finally, the employee health and safety model was formulated.

Limitations and Consequences: Among the limitations of this research is the difficult access to the sample members and the lack of similar studies. Regarding the consequences, the current research reduces the gap of theoretical and conceptual bases as much as possible.

Practical Consequences: By using this model, the safety and health of employees will be achieved and the threats facing it will be identified and reduced.

Innovation or Value of the Article: So far, no research has been done in order to improve the safety and health of employees with a qualitative research approach based on data base theory.
